White Feather

Uncategorized Nov 02, 2020

She drops like a soft dream through the blue skies, as I look up I see her trajectory as a gentle swing moving with the speed of my thoughts; calm and slow at this very moment.

I don't know who she belongs to; I just know that this elegant white feather brings memories of a time when tickles and giggles were ever present.

I can feel the softness of her; I touch her smoothness onto my bare face.
White feather you bring lightness to my world, to my words, to my being.

My ears remember the sounds from my pen moving carefully over the wide brown paper, as you, white feather danced and ran after every word, one by one, patiently.

White feather you are wise, you carried my memories through the blue skies, memories from my words, my voice, my fantasies, my world.

Rest white feather, rest over this green soft grass, you have danced much through the pages, throughout the stories, the skies, the magic, the possibilities.

Rest dear one. I am grateful for you. Rest now!

Science Says: Being Near The Ocean Changes Your Brain

Uncategorized Oct 02, 2020

Have you ever felt at peace when you’re walking by the ocean?
A sense of rejuvenation when you stand by a waterfall?
How about taking in the view of a breathtaking lake from your window?
We can often report feeling a sense of calm when we’re around water and scientists say, this is having a positive effect on our brains.
So what exactly is happening to our brains when we surround ourselves with water? Well, the calming effect is down to a vacation for our brains from over-stimulation.
Looking at water and listening to its sound puts our overloaded minds into a relaxed and hypnotic-like state with the benefit of this being a different way that our brain processes thoughts, leading to more calm and creative states and an increase our well-being.
Often referred to as blue space, the impact of the sea, rivers, lakes on our happiness and well-being is being researched much more by neuro-scientists and psychologists. Wallace J. Nichols, a marine biologist, has discussed...

A simple view of our magnificent body

"Learning never exhausts the mind" ~ Leonardo da Vinci

Besides many other quotes from the master Leonardo da Vinci, who I personally have an immense admiration, this one above has supported me within many of my endeavors through the highways of learning.

One in particular has been the learning and understanding of the human body, yes the many aspects of it; from the basic and raw anatomy & physiology, to the mental & analytical roller-coasts , emotional & energetic flows, and consciousness & spiritual upgrading(s).

On this Blog today I am focusing on the beautiful rawness of our anatomy, yes our bones and flesh, the magnificent engineering of muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and all the goodies from our flesh in supporting our skeletal structure to come alive, as we dance through life.

In every and each movement we perform, from a quick sneeze to a shalabasana posture - our locust pose during a yoga class (the pose pictured above), the...

The knowledge of the Chakra system is a very vast one and in my personal opinion, an extremely intrinsic, amazing, mysterious and revealing one…

…That is why the Chakra System keeps on fascinating me moment by moment.

Here is a little bit of some aspects of this system for you…

The Chakras of Matter

The first three chakras, starting at the base of the spine are chakras of matter. They are more physical in nature.

First Chakra: The Muladhara is the chakra of stability, security, and our basic needs. It encompasses the first three vertebrae, the bladder, and the colon. When this chakra is open, we feel safe and fearless.

Second Chakra: The Svadhisthana chakra is our creativity and sexual center. It is located above the pubic bone, below the navel, and is responsible for our creative expression.

Third Chakra: The Manipura chakra means lustrous gem and it’s the area from the navel to the breastbone. The third chakra is our source of personal...

Releasing What No Longer Serves
by Tosca Braun

Do you experience “negative, unwanted thoughts” that may hinder your New Year's resolutions?

A new study in the journal, Psychological Science, suggests that writing down such thoughts, and subsequently discarding them, may result in a corresponding mental release. From a yogic perspective, releasing what does not serve invites deeper integrity and alignment with one’s intentions and self.

Spanish high school students participating in an eating disorder prevention class were randomly assigned by researchers to write down either positive or negative thoughts about their body during a three-minute period. Half the students were then asked to contemplate their thoughts and look for spelling mistakes. The other half were instructed to contemplate their thoughts then throw them in the trash can.

For students that kept their thoughts and checked them for mistakes, the positive or negative...

The Art of Appreciation

This is a beautiful article written by Laura Grace which I choose to share with you here
~ enjoy it!

"Love is the way I walk in gratitude." ~ A Course in Miracles

Appreciating all that we have in our life produces harmonious relationships, creative and meaningful work, physical wellness, and genuine, long lasting prosperity. Appreciation validates our worthwhile affirming we are deserving of having everything our heart desires. And as we relish all the wonderful aspects of our life, more abundance is allowed to pour forth, creating a consistent wellspring of balance, joy and peace.

While teaching, I regularly pose the question, "How abundant do you feel in your life's work? How many of you are allowing your creativity to be your livelihood?" People will often wrinkle their noses for very few feel they are doing what they love to do. Yet, whenever we perceive we're not receiving something it’s usually because we’re failing to appreciate what we already have...

MANA - Energy flows

Uncategorized Sep 11, 2020

Yesterday while connecting with a client, I reached for one of my 'wisdom cards deck', this particular one was 'Mana Cards - The Power of Hawaiian Wisdom' - A beautiful deck gifted to me during a trip to Hawaii last year.

My client intuitively choose a card which was #4 - MANA, the essential energy for life. That energy/force that is neither good or bad, it just is, and it is everything...
As we explored deeper, MANA is also the representation of thought, mind and breath. As you breathe you think, as you think you breathe.

Why am I sharing this with you today?
Well, as life is constantly presenting itself into every moment, MANA is there ebbing and flowing constantly, so are we ebbing and flowing within our own individual and collective lives.

My question to you is, how are you embracing with MANA? How are you allowing your breath breathe you? kindly or nervously?

As the MANA card reminds us to mind our thoughts and our breath, and that wisdom reflects in the...

What is LOVE?

Uncategorized Sep 09, 2020

Love is a Might Power.

It is the energy of life. It bring us into life and sustains us while we live and breathe.

Love is an energy, not a substance. It is essence, not matter. You can not contain it; you can not put it in a box, but you can feel it, you can taste it, and know it. Its presence is unmistakable. It is exquisite and profound.
And when you are expressing love, nobody, not your best friend, your parents or even your own mind can talk you out of it.

Love is mysterious and beautiful. it makes us happy, gives us hope, allows us to believe that the impossible can happen.
And yet, it is inexplicable. it can not be defined or analyzed, cataloged or priced. Its premier property is that when it exists, it can never be mistaken for anything else, and nothing else, no matter how worthwhile or supposedly grand, can ever be passed off as love.

Love is a divine energy that steps into human circumstances, a timeless essence that enters...

The Art of Being Present

Uncategorized Sep 08, 2020

Being Present in all moments open the door to experiencing life within a sacred reality, the life of the soul and of other souls, the life that is emerging from within, the life of the Divine within time and space.

Being in the Present enables us to participate in each moment without preconditions, anticipating the new, letting go of the old, and rejoicing in what is possible with others as the eyes of the soul awaken.

Being present in the moment does not just mean taking part fully in the external situation that may be happening, whether it is a crisis, a conversation, or a life-event that evokes feelings. It means bringing one's whole Self to that moment, including all the threads of love, wisdom, and relationship that are part of the self.

To be present in the moment is to exist in it with the full integrity of one's being. Here, all relationships are honored and all love is intact. Respect for life is integrated with the totality of what may be happening on...

Opening up Obstacles...

Uncategorized Sep 07, 2020

Often when I'm teaching a Yoga class I will remind students (especially when they are attempting to be in the splits), that the tightness they're experiencing in their bodies is not an obstacle to flexibility, but an opening. The awareness of tightness/tension being present, is the beginning of flexibility being created. When we feel this tightness in our bodies, our first instinct is usually to back away from it or avoid it. It is not comfortable and the mind almost immediately begins to feel distressed.

At this point the teacher usually reminds us to breathe into the tightness of the uncomfortable stretch we feel screaming back at us in our bodies. As we begin to breathe and allow the tightness to be there, something amazing begins to happen. The breath we're breathing begins to relax our mind and our instinctive re-activeness, and we begin to feel the body start to open up and let go of the tightness. As we allow ourselves to stay in the splits, we begin to discover...
